Busy day in the office today, with meetings and briefings focused on your health and safety.
This afternoon, I sat down with Dr. Tam, Minister Hajdu, and officials for the latest on the pandemic. We’re not out of the woods yet, and COVID-19 remains a serious threat to our health. We’re going to keep working with public health officials and partners across the country, and we’ll continue to base our decisions on the latest science to keep you safe.
Following that meeting, Minister LeBlanc and I spoke with the premiers about Canada’s response to COVID-19. It was our 17th meeting with the premiers since the pandemic started, and we talked about ways we can build on our Safe Restart Agreement as more workplaces reopen and our kids head back to school.
And earlier today, I spoke with Minister Blair and officials to get an update on the current wildfire situation. Because in addition to closely monitoring the pandemic, we’re also keeping an eye on the fires burning across parts of the country – and if needed, we’re ready to provide support to the brave women and men on the ground.
